Characteristics of the workplace

The Department of Languages provides foreign language teaching in the fields of FINANCE AND MANAGEMENT and TRAVEL  (study programme ECONOMICS AND MANAGEMENT), in the fields of COMPUTER SYSTEMS and APPLIED INFORMATICS (study programme ELECTROTECHNOLOGY AND INFORMATICS), in the fields of OBSTETRICAL ASSISTANT and GENERAL NURSE (study programme NURSING) and in the field of HEALTH AND SOCIAL WORKER (study programme HEALTH AND SOCIAL CARE). The main focus of activity lies in professionally oriented teaching of foreign languages for the given fields of study. The Department provides teaching of English, German, French, Italian, Russian and Spanish. It also offers students conversational seminars in selected languages.

In cooperation with selected departments of the school, the department participates in the preparation and organization of professional lectures in foreign languages, maintaining and developing contacts with foreign schools and institutions, and conducting language examinations of tourist guides for the public. The department also provides translation and interpreting services for the needs of the school. An important partner of the department is the foreign language department of the school's study room and the foreign language library, where materials and teaching programmes are available to students and staff to deepen their knowledge of general and specialist languages.
